At 20h30: «LONTANO» concert - Anja Lechner: Cello/ François Couturier: Piano
The musical collaboration of Anja Lechner and François Couturier has been established for a long time, through their concerts and acclaimed recordings for ECM, both as a duo and with the Tarkovsky Quartet. Their successful duet project «Moderato Cantabile» presented music oscillating between East and West. Today, with their new program "Lontano", the German cellist and the French pianist travel a wide musical arc - embracing familiar melodies of Henri Dutilleux, Giya Kancheli, Anouar Brahem.
"Both musicians have refined the art of intense listening. They do not play a note too much, and use improvised passages sparingly, but in a sharp way. They listen to each other at length and pay attention to the development of nuanced timbres, to dynamic design." Hans-Jürgen Linke, FAZ.
ANJA LECHNER Her concert tours and festival appearances have taken her to Europe, Latin America, the United States, Korea, China, Armenia, Lebanon and Iran.
Considered as a leading pianist in the border area between contemporary jazz and new music, François Couturier spent many years with the Tunisian master of the oud Anouar Brahem.

Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 - 43, avenue de la République - From 10am to 6pm
Work of the architect Henri Decaux, the Belfry dates from 1934. It was born from the will of Émile Cresp, Mayor of Montrouge, to facilitate the life of Montrougiens by bringing together all the services of the City and its cultural and sports facilities in one place. It embodies the Art Deco style to perfection with its clean lines, geometric volumes, flat roof and large windows on the red brick facades of Burgundy… The emblematic building of Montrouge has been restored to become a cultural and congress center in 2012. He’s turning 90 next year.
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 - 2, Place Emile Cresp - From 10am to 6pm
Perched at the top of the Belfry, the Montrouge chime is with its 49 bells, the largest in Île-de-France since April 2019. An exhibition guides you along the steps and will allow you to learn more about these bells. The highlight of the show: a panoramic view of Paris.
You can hear his song every day at noon and 7pm.

Perched like a huge exclamation mark on the large red brick Art Deco building of Burgundy, the Belfry of Montrouge proudly displays its 46 meters high facing the church of Saint-Jacques le Majeur… steepeless. A sign in the city that, to the sound of the carillon, seems to invite us to discover its concert halls, congresses and exhibition spaces. In a word, to participate in the cultural life of Montrouge.

It brings together, in one place, the administrative services but also the cultural and even sports facilities with, for example in the basement, boxing and physical culture rooms.
