The King’s Vegetable Garden, the base of the National School of Landscape Studies, is an ecosystem limited by high walls, presenting on its 9ha scale situations similar to those of large territories.

Through guided tours and meetings, visitors will be able to discover a remarkable garden whose architecture is similar, or almost, to that of the 17th century, but whose arboricultural and vegetable processes adapt to today’s constraints. How does a food garden perpetuate practices over time, what has been passed on and what can gardeners today transmit to those of tomorrow? Questions to which the visitor will be able to find answers through a cultural programme organized for the occasion of the European Heritage Days, on the theme of living heritage.

Classified as historical monuments and Remarkable Garden, it is an integral part of the Versailles estate inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today, the École nationale supérieure de paysage pursues a production activity focused on short circuits that respect the environment, while developing links with training, resear
