On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Maison des métallos goes back in time!

Join us for an evening for a festive and wild swing ball. Initiation and live music will be at the rendezvous with the complicity of Shake That Swing.

The Maison des métallos invites you to reconnect with its history on the occasion of the European Heritage Days. A cardinal place in the life of the Bas Belleville district, the walls of the Métallos often resonated with the sounds of the brass, whether during his life as a manufacturer of musical instruments or during the period of the popular balls of the CGT Métallurgie, of which he was the headquarters. For an evening, come and immerse yourself in this fragment of living history and dance to the finest standards of the golden age of swing, catchy music that has delighted dancers and jazz lovers since the 1930s. Put on your best shoes to enjoy an initiation to swing dances in the early evening, then the ball, the jazzy sound of a live music band. The promise of an evening feel good!

Manufacture of copper musical instruments, world renowned for the quality of its instruments, Couesnon is the first manufacturer of musical instruments to have introduced the steam engine in its industries. Following the economic crisis of 1929, the company, which sells a lot of instruments to American jazzmen, had to reduce the sail to finally give up the buildings, in 1936\. That same year, with the Popular Front, the workforce of the Métallurgie de la Seine went from 10,000 to 250,000 unionized workers. The money from the contributions is invested in real estate, including 94 rue d'Angoulême in order to have large enough premises to develop activities tenfold compared to the tens of thousands of new members. The House of Metallurgists is inaugurated on May 2, 1937 and becomes a high place of trade unionism, managed by the Union Fraternelle des Métallurgistes, a branch of the CGT dedicated
