«The discovery of cyanotype»

Family workshop from 6 years

Cyanotype is an ancient photographic process through which one obtains a photographic print of an intense blue color. This technique was developed in 1842 by the English scientist and astronomer J.F.W Herschel.
So like Zadkine who let himself be guided by the fortuitous discoveries in his garden and by the emergence of forms in nature, discover how to tame the technique of cyanotype to make a beautiful blue cyan herbarium or a unique photo of one of the sculptures of the museum.
This workshop, led by The Inventors at the Zadkine Museum, allows us to discover this intriguing process that inspired the fathers of modern photography. The prints thus obtained, by the intensity of their colour, evoke encyclopedic engravings or unreal dreamlike images…
All the works obtained will be unique, poetic and touching!
This workshop is led by Les Inventors, founders of a space dedicated to creation and manufacturing for adults, teenagers and children from 4 years! Their goal? Encourage the desire to learn and «do it yourself» in 4 areas of activity: carpentry, digital manufacturing, metalwork and Do It Yourself technique.

The house, and the studio that houses it, were the place of life and creation of the artist from 1928 to 1967\. Nestled in the greenery of its garden populated with sculptures, the museum was renovated on the occasion of its thirty years close to the spirit of workshop, which it is one of the last places to witness. The presentation of his collections, rethought around the question of matter, makes dialogue under the light of glass, plaster, earth, wood and stones. Two steps away from Montparnasse where Modigliani, Cendrars, Henry Miller and many others crossed paths, this place dedicated to one of the major representatives of the School of Paris, is an enclave with Slavic accents to (re)discover.
