Roche-et-Méry is a former French town, located in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region. Roche is the village of Vitalie Cuif, Rimbaud’s mother. She owned a farm there. It was there that Arthur Rimbaud wrote a season in hell. Its peaceful countryside is above all a place of inspiration for the poet.
