Discover an exhibition of young artists in an 11th century castle

European Heritage Days 2023

Château de Ricey-bas

From July 8 to September 17, discover the exhibition: «À quelques lieux de là» of the works made by the students of the ESAD of Reims, during their stay in autumn 2022.
This exhibition is an opportunity to visit an exceptional site offering a dive into history. The monument is thus confronted with the gaze of eighteen young artists who, by appropriating the place and retranscribing their personal experiences by the mediums that are theirs (drawing, painting, photo, video, sculpture, installation...), show the building and its green setting in a new light.
You will also have the opportunity to visit the Castle and its gardens.

À propos du lieu

Château de Ricey-Bas
1 rue de l'Isle, 10340 Les Riceys
  • Aube
  • Grand Est
The castle of Riceys-Bas belongs to the descendants of the baron and of the baroness of Taisne today. From 1967, these had dashed(launched) into wine-making adventure and works of restoration(catering). They passed on the torch to their children who continue embellishment and modernisation of the site today. Of the castle in the park, via(including) the cellar of the 12th century and the French-style gardens, visit is an authentic crossing of time(weather) and of history(story). Because if the house is property of the family of Taisne since 1837, its history(story) is more old(former). Based(Established) in 1086 by Robert Ier Lord de Riceys, the castle was also, between other one, the residence of the chancellor Rolin.
