SYRINX Show. The song of the Nymph and other stories from Greco-Latin antiquity Put into words by Laetitia Marcangeli, set to music by the ensemble Kalamus A reference to Syrinx & Pan based on excerpts in Latin and in translation from Ovid’s Metamorphoses. With singing, scansion according to the ancient dactylic hexameter metric, pastoral flutes, bagpipes and percussion. Translations & words: Laetitia MARCANGELI, singer, doctor in comparative literature, associate of philology, author, translator and specialist in Greek poetry, teacher of literature and ancient languages. Presentation of the instruments & setting: Sébastien BENOIT, musician, actor, historian, director of La Compagnie des Regains (ensembles Phémios & Kalamus) and teacher at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Strasbourg

Aleria romaine lettuce(steelyard) establishes(constitutes) in the 1st century before our era, following the first colonisation operated by Sylla, from 81 av(avenues). J-C. The ruins of the city were described for the first time, precisely, by Prosper Mérimée in 1840 after its journey of inspection in Corsica of 1839\. From 1955 till 1958, the archaeologists Jean Jehasse and Jean-Paul butcher begin(undertake) the first important excavations(searches) of the site. They bring out(loosen) Forum and part(party) of the Roman town(conglomeration). The main visible(obvious) monuments today articulate(are expressed) around a forum lined with two covered porticoes(gantries) which protected the facades of shops and of houses.
