Église Saint-Loup et jardin du Prieuré
Rue du Prieuré 18140 Herry
The church of Saint-Loup d'Herry has preserved only the square choir of the thirteenth century. The two side chapels date from the 15th and 16th centuries. In front of the church stands a square tower that once formed a porch. The "Jardin du Prieuré" is a gift from M. L'abbé PIROT to the cure of Herry in 1862 under the condition of the perpetual conservation of the tomb of M. Nicolas Céard, engineer of the Ponts et Chaussées. After the laws of separation of Church and State, the garden became communal property, but Mr. Céard’s tomb is still there.
