Discover or rediscover the castle of the Counts of Perche with its keep of the 11th century, its main building Renaissance... On the first floor, the exhibition "Photographic still lifes" by Carol Descordes. Then explore on the second floor the Perche History Museum traces a thousand years of history, from the Rotrou epic to the French Revolution. Follow in the footsteps of Rotrou IV, Richard the Lionheart, Philippe Auguste, the Bourbon-Condé family, the Sully family. Discover the artists who contributed to the influence of the Perche, the photographer Camille Silvy or the painters Louis Moullin and Clara Godeul, not to mention the sculptor and writer Camille Gaté.
On the third floor, opening the weekend time of the frames dating from the last third of the fifteenth century.
Outside, discover the enlargements of the photographs of Camille Silvy, Nogentais photographer in the 19th century.
In the lower courtyard you can stroll along the medicinal, aromatic or toxic plants.

Dominating the valley of Huisne, an old(former) fort of the Xth century makes room for the XIth century in the powerful rectangular donjon lined with a profound ditch(gap) where from rises a circular surrounding wall(speaker), reinforced by seven round towers among which two keep(guard) the entrance(entry). The castle is invested(surrounded) during Hundred Years' War and in 1428 the donjon is burnt down by the Englishman Salisbury. A been(An a matter) of its ruins in Renaissance, the châtelet and an accommodation(housing) of two floors, giving on a turret of staircase rested(supported) in the donjon, are rebuilt. Established as duchy-peerage, the castle returns in 1624 to Sully who(which) makes build a small home of style Louis XIII there. Transformed into prison during Revolution then dedicated neglected, the castle is saved in 1843\. The rooms of the museum, which sheltered collections with ethnographic character on the Perche(Perch) since 1972, have just closed. A muséographie piece of news(short story) is under way of development to present you a route(course) devoted to the history(story) of the counts of the Perche(Perch) (castle of Nogent-le-Rotrou and its Lords, history(story) of the city and of the territory, influence(radiation) in France and abroad).
