The Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux generating station is located in the municipality of Saint-Laurent-Nouan in the Loir-et-Cher (41). Halfway between Blois and Orléans, and less than 2 hours from Paris, it extends over 60 hectares. The plant operates with two PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor) reactors with a power of 900 MW and commissioned in 1981\. In 2018, the plant generated 11.8 billion kWh. Two production units of type UNGG (Natural Uranium Graphite Gas): Saint-Laurent A1 and Saint-Laurent A2, respectively commissioned in 1969 and 1971, were stopped in 1990 and 1992\. The Saint-Laurent site is environmentally friendly and certified according to ISO 14 001\. In 2018, more than 770 EDF employees and 250 permanent contractors work at the Saint-Laurent site.
