In Montargis, the Girodet museum occupies the Durzy hotel, building built at the beginning of 1860s, between Loing and Briare canal, at the heart of a standing park of rare gasolines(essences), adorned with a beautiful arcature of the XIIth century. By its architecture, its decoration(set) and its collections, the Girodet museum invites the public to rediscover the artistic diversity of the XIXth century around the works of two artists native to the montargois: the neoclassical painter Anne-Louis Girodet-Trioson and the romantic sculptor Henry de Triqueti. The Girodet museum has seen a new stage of its history(story) with works of extension and of renovation begun in 2015 and the construction site(work) of collections today. The 32nd edition(publishing) of european Heritage Days offers opportunity(occasion) to pay a particular attention to architectural, technical ways(means) and protective measures implemented to assure(insure) the future of the institution and its rich and various collections.
