The mills of Monthou-sur-Cher open their door!
Three hiking trails of 4, 10 and 14 km between vineyards and forest to discover the Valley of millers, and 8 of its mills, many of which will be open to the visit for the occasion. The owners of the mills will show you the mechanisms and specificities of their site.

The town of Monthou-sur-Cher is crossed by the streams of Anguilleuses and Bavet where several mills were built. These establishments, often founded in the Middle Ages, could belong to lay lords but also to abbeys; thus, the mill of the Varenne, which depended on the abbey of Cornilly, and whose trace can be found in the acts of the abbey from 1188.
