Open house at the Vierzon depot
As part of the European Heritage Days, the Vierzon locomotive depot is exceptionally open to the public.
Various materials will be exhibited and workshops organized.
Visitors will discover steam, diesel and electric locomotives, tracing, among other vehicles presented, the technologies of past and contemporary railways.
A 1946 steam locomotive (the 141 R 840, preserved by the Amicale des Anciens et Amis de la Traction Vapeur Centre Val de Loire) will be presented smoking, as well as various diesel and electric machines from the 1950s to the present day.
The most curious will be able to take the driver’s seat and indulge in the unique experience of driving a train!
The rail workers will welcome you and present their trades. Don’t hesitate to bring your CV!
A safety prevention stand, led by SNCF Réseau, will present railway risks in a fun and educational way.
