Collegiate Saint-Mexme was the most important religious building of Chinon. Partly ruined after Revolution, she(it) escapes destruction thanks to her(its) reuse in school. After 20 working years of restoration(catering), the collegiate became a cultural centre. The nave of the year 1000 contains a small wooden theatre which receives numerous shows in the summer season. The narthex keeps(preserves) wall paintings(paints) of the XIIth, XIIIth and XVth century. Stained-glass windows according to Olivier Debré, in uncluttered forms, open since the inside of the collegiate of unpublished prospects(perspectives) on landscape.
