Concert of the Orchestre Région Centre-Val de Loire/Tours

«Music & heritage»
Dimanche 17 septembre 2023, 16h00Passé
Marie Pétry

«Music & heritage» A series of four concerts in the privileged acoustics of the churches, cathedrals and abbey churches of the Region: both in the imposing Cathedral of Bourges, but also in the most confidential Abbey of Preuilly-on-Claise or the Church of Châteauroux, allowing a certain proximity between the public and the 52 musicians. Under the orchestral direction of Laurent Campellone, also Director General of the Tours Opera, the orchestra performs Dvořák’s Symphony 8 and Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with François Petit, the orchestra’s solo clarinet.

The important restoration campaign of the nineteenth century marked the monument without altering its overall beauty, it is particularly visible on the bedside and with the tower of the bell tower, rebuilt following its collapse in 1867, and surmounted by an incongruous arrow covered with glazed tiles. Conventual buildings remain, in particular, two arcades supported by a double colonnade, the remains of the 12th century cloister and the chapter hall co
