It was used to store the tithe, a royalty in kind or in money relating mainly to agricultural income, intended to pay the Catholic Church, this tax was levied from the Middle Ages to the French Revolution. The Négron barn was the subject of a major restoration campaign in 2012 which makes it a remarkable heritage and cultural place.
