- Indre-et-Loire

House of the boatman of the Indre in the "port(bearing) of the Goatherd" in 1560, "in the roof of broom of heather", probable stopping place of the novelist Balzac towards the path(way) of Clochegourde (cf. "the Lily in the valley"), this house of country, half-buried in the slope, was used by Calder. The American artist made, of this old(former) house of the boatman of the Indre since Middle Ages, its painting workshop which he occupied upon his/her arrival in Saché, in 1953 up to his departure in 1976\. He(It) worked on it regularly and exposed(explained) his(its) works: motives(mobiles) and stabiles in small courts(yards) in front of this old long house, which speed(look) did not change. The stories of his(her) life in Saché in form of numerous historical documents, posters, personal photos make the object of authentic comments evoking the artist in his(her) relations with neighbourhood and his(her) friends.
