Architectural site late eighteenth century. The forge is mentioned for the first time at the beginning of the sixteenth century, but the Thirty Years' War comes to put a stop to this development. It is in the 18th century that the forge becomes important. The house of the master of forges dates from the very beginning of the century. Most of the buildings date from the great reconstruction program dating from the end of this century. The master blacksmith, Claude-François Rochet, then made work the architect bisontin Jean-Antoine Guyet, son of Jean-Pierre Guyet, contractor who worked for the architects bisontins Antoine Colombot and Alexandre Bertrand (himself operation architect of Claude-Nicolas Ledoux for the construction of the theatre of Besançon). It organizes a hemicycle square around the blast furnace, framed by two buildings in the shape of a quarter circle.
