On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, Catherine Binon opens the doors of the Atelier de la Maison penchée, located in one of the oldest buildings in the city, to present her work and exhibit the engravings made since her arrival in Sens. The engravings presented show the city through the local architectural heritage, whether historical or contemporary (Saint-Étienne Cathedral, grain silos or pavilion areas); other themes are explored. The question of popular art is at the heart of this work: in what a. e local artist. Can it invest the imagination and the reality of everyday life?
Discover the different steps of making an engraved wood in savings size as well as the modalities of the prints with the froton and the press to obtain a footprint. This demonstration will be an anchor to give some historical elements related to this technique by putting into perspective the actuality of this process in contemporary art.
