On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, Le Dôme opens the doors of its reserves and takes you to discover its ancient collections.
The librarians have prepared for you a selection of works from different eras, including an incunable of the fifteenth century, and invite you to discover the evolutions that have marked the history of the printed book since the invention of the printing press until the nineteenth century.

Inaugurated on 27 January 2017, the Le Dôme media library is located in the former premises of the Banque de France, opposite the Saint-Claude Cathedral. The building was the subject of an architectural project led by the firm Patrick Mauger. The challenge was to convert an austere building, by definition closed, into an open, bright, pleasant place, in the spirit of the «3rd place» libraries. The interior of the building, completely taken over, is now equipped with a dome overlooking the two mezzanine floors dedicated to the reception of the public. An auditorium replaces the vault.
