Guided tour: Train of the Ardèche
As in previous years, the Train de l'Ardèche and the SGVA association join forces for the animation of the Heritage Days to discover the metric railway heritage of the Vivarais Railway. At Boucieu le Roi station, the members of the SGVA association can welcome you from 9:30 to 17:00 and you will visit their site. On this occasion, you will be able to see different materials restored or in the process of restoration:
• Bicabine 031
• 1930 Pétolat tractor unit
• 1933 Field Train No. 2
For this day, the star will be the 1933 Campaign No. 2, fully restored in its CFD version.
The theme of 2023 is to revive the era of mixed trains of the 1960s. As was customary on «Tuesdays and fair days in Lamastre», board a MV (passenger goods) towed by the diesel locomotive CFD 040-003 built especially for the Vivarais network in 1963 and today nicknamed «BB400». The train will consist of several freight cars, all original to the line and used until the system was closed on 31 October 1968. Authenticity guaranteed!
The departure of the special traffic will take place from Lamastre station at 10:00 am (only on Saturday, September 16, 2023). The number of places being limited, the presence on board is only by reservation at the single rate of 50 € including the round trip from Lamastre with stops for photographers.
Other departures are possible from the station of Saint Jean de Muzols on board the Train des Gorges (departure at 10:00 and 15:00) at the usual rates. Provisional schedule of the day
