Guided tour of the village of Jaujac
On the occasion of the heritage days, come and discover the history of the character village of Jaujac (by reservation).
Surrounded by the Cevennes greenhouses, nestled between the youngest volcano in Ardèche and long basalt flows, Jaujac enchants the visitor with the beauty of its sites. The village takes its name from the old seigneury of Jaujac, who lived in the 12th century and lived at the castle of Chastelas on the left bank of the river. Medieval town in the shape of a star, it is articulated around a square planted with trees, decorated with a fountain. Nearby are many sights, such as the Jaujac Cup, remains of an ancient volcano. The «Roman» bridge of Chastelas which allows to cross a tributary of Lignon going towards the spa of Neyrac-Les Bains.
