The Hotel Saint-Mart opened its doors to the public for the first time at the very beginning of the Second Empire (1853). Located near the new thermal establishment of Royat-Chamalières then under construction, the hotel building hopes to take advantage of the arrival of rich worldly bathers.
For nearly 170 years – a rare fact in France – five generations of the same family have succeeded one another at the head of this emblem of the commune.
