Back to basics

Basketry goes back to the roots of civilization. The basket maker makes utilitarian or decorative objects with plant fibers. The random or technical basketry of the bird’s nest is even older, it is that of nature, birds that weave their nest ... It is an activity that requires patience, strength and mastery of volumes. In a few hours, I realize an object inspired by the bird’s nest, working strand by strand, with my whole body.

Aubenas is a city born of commerce, it benefits from its geographical position between volcanoes and limestone plateau, on a very busy road since the highest antiquity. In the Middle Ages it acquired a castle, which evolved through time and was modified by the different seigneurial families. The town lived from the trade of wool canvas, then silk from the seventeenth century. There are also many Catholic religious buildings: Saint-Laurent church, Saint-Benoit dome, Cordeliers chapel.
