Course commented: "No idleness ... Always remarkable and active yes!."
The historian Chantal Jane Buisson will present a commented journey to discover the remarkable and active women of Brotteaux: creative artists, business leaders, high-level sportsmen, Resistance fighters, Lyon mothers.
The VI° arrondisssement of Lyon conveys an image of a wealthy idle district where the women of yesteryear would have been even more confined to a private sphere furnished with futile occupations. But during this commented pacours, ladies of the Brotteaux will reveal to us that their daily life was quite different.
We will discover the painter Louise Cottin whose work is still visible today in a Lyon building, the composer Marie Monnier, the photographer Marcelle Vallet who was the only woman reporter in Lyon in the 1950s, the industrial Céline Montange to whom we owe "the Saint Pierre wool", the professional parachutist Lise Bourdelin, the Resistant Thérèse Goyet, the Lyon Mother Claudine Dean widow of "Léon de Lyon" and many more women, equally remarkable because of the actions we will encounter along the streets.
This course integrates the program of "Journées du Matrimoine" created and federated by the association "HF Auvergne Rhône-Alpes"
