Guided tours on Saturday from 2 pm to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm. The Chappe telegraph is a means of fast optical communication over long distances developed by Claude Chappe and his brothers in 1794. This first visual communication system covered all of France with 534 posts. The Etoile site is on the Paris-Lyon-Toulon line. Currently 15 stations are rehabilitated including that of Etoile, inaugurated in 2010. Inside, an exhibition presents the life of the Chappe brothers and illustrates the development of this network.
