Brothers in Arms - Beaujolais Hairy Fighting Experiences
The Pays d'art et d'histoire du Beaujolais is holding its second exhibition in partnership with the association Ecobeauval, Frères d'armes – Expériences combattantes de poilus du Beaujolais. Between 1914 and 1919, nearly 8,410,000 French soldiers were drafted. Among them are representatives of many Beaujolais siblings where some of them see all of their sons mobilized. If the brothers are most often separated because of their different assignments, it happens that several of them evolve at the same time within the same unit. This allows them to feel a little comfort and probably commands them to seek to protect each other. But for the majority, once the illusion of a short war dissipates, a new fraternity is born, by the blood shed that one, within this new wandering family that is the regiment (1,000 men) and even more the squad (15 men). This exhibition is equipped with an immersive scenography that engages you in the world of the 23rd Infantry Regiment «regiment of photographers» and the 372nd RI on the Eastern Front!
