Last May, the City of Lyon adopted its third Plan Lumière, a real reference tool to support the lighting of its territory. Known and recognized for the excellence of its skills in this field, the City of Light focuses its work around the issues of quality, sobriety and citizenship. Between reflection on biodiversity and emblematic heritage of the city, the photographed nocturnal landscapes illustrate this new Plan Lumière that takes care of the night.

Designed in the middle of the 17th century in a Louis XIII style by the city’s architect, Simon Maupin, the Lyon City Hall is organized around two courtyards and a belfry. In addition to its remarkable classical architecture, increased in the 19th century, it has sumptuous decoration and painted ceilings of origins, to the glory of the city. Today it is considered one of the most remarkable historical monuments of Lyon.
