Presentation of the thesis of Maréva Briaud, student at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville preparing for the State Diploma of Architect.
Hachette et Cie, a pioneer in the field of lava enamelling, is the subject of this thesis combining art and technology by exploring the relationships between architects and craftsmen in the field of decorative arts, during the July monarchy. Thanks to local resources and the help of Parisian and German historians, the uncovered archives make it possible to trace the history of this company, led by an architect from Le Roy, uniting cities as distant and dissimilar as Volvic and Paris.

The Sahut Museum is located in the castle of the Bosredon estate, seat of power of a seigneurial family from the High Middle Ages. The collection of the Sahut Museum is based on the donation of Yvonne and Marcel Sahut to the municipality in 1985\. The painter of Volviccian origin and his wife entrusted Volvic with nearly 2000 works. The Sahut collection reflects the career of a collector painter, Marcel Sahut (1901-1990), an independent artist associated with the École de Paris.
