Current theatre was built between 1933 and 1935 in the location of old(former), itself installed(settled) in 1797 in the old(former) church of the convent of the Jacobins. In 1874, the owner, Mr Courtejaire, gives it in the city which proceeds to its enlargement and to its refitting(reorganisation). Project is confided(entrusted) to the architects Raymond Esparseil and Marcel Oudin who propose a resolutely modern, sober and functional, characteristic building of it between two wars. The painted decorations(sets) are realised by J. Christmas Garrigues and G.-L. Jaulmes. The inside kept(preserved) as they stand its aptitude(arrangements) of origin: entrance hall, lounge(show) of the floor, painted decorations(sets), grounds, bannisters and Italian-style room.
