The lively and attractive route of the museum makes it possible to discover the 26 centuries of existence of the oldest city in France thanks to 4000 exhibits and a hundred multimedia devices. 13 chronological sequences, introduced by an emblematic landmark object of the city, mark the course of the Museum of History of Marseille, from the first prehistoric occupations to contemporary urban developments. The sequences unfold through an Ariane thread which is that of the port, around the archaeological site of the Bourse, a true open-air room.
