Like many 19th century artists, the Peninsula is for Ziem the country of art par excellence. Nicknamed the «Painter of Venice», he visits all the Italian boots. He also creates many portraits, expressing with emotion his sympathy for the local population.
Nearly 90 paintings on wood and canvas, pencils, charcoal, wash and watercolours allow to follow his wanderings.
