The owners will expose you almost 20 years of backup work to save the home of the Chevallerie. Methodology of restoration, respect for history, the environment, creation of an eco-responsible garden, they will share with you this route of enthusiasts around a walk - visit of the high court and the garden.
Visit with three voices thanks to the friendly support of Mr. Dominique Gautron, historian emeritus.
The high court will be in free access for the enhancement of the last campaign of works and inform on the next one.

The name of Chevallerie comes from the eponymous Fief housing a large Templar Commandery installed on the site in the second half of the twelfth century. Of this initial building, nothing remains. If the history of the Castle or the Noble Hostel of the Chevallerie is rich and ancient, the current set has a mainly seventeenth century physiognomy, even if we do not know the exact date of construction. It is to the Babin family (Babin des Brétinières then his son Babin de la Chevallerie, secretary - Auditeur en la Chambre des Comptes de Bretagne), owners in the eighteenth century, that we owe the current castle in its entirety, without any modification or subsequent additions, apart from various destructions. The most "modern" buildings are the large nave, recently restored and the entrance pavilion on which we can read two dates: 1768 and 1770\.
