You can also see the chapel of the fifteenth century, the thirteenth century leak which is the widest of Anjou and finally walk freely in the main garden which is surrounded by moats.
The house is made up of two square main buildings, whose angle is marked by a large tower. On the façade there is a double staircase tower.

It was the birthplace of the Chivre family from 1248\. Around 1634, Françoise Marguerite de CHIVRE (niece of the Cardinal de RICHELIEU ) married the Duke de GRAMONT, Councillor of King Louis XIII, Marshal of France. Their daughter, Catherine Charlotte, married the Prince of MONACO in 1660\. The land remained in the family of GRAMONT until 1780\. The Castle was sold in 1824 to Mr Lemarié de la Crossonnière. Then, the family of QUATREBARBES became owner of this estate until the end of the XX th century.
