"GRAVITY", kinetic and poetic installation
GRAVITY
Kinetic and poetic installation
By Yann Nguema & Arnaud Doucet (ANIMA LUX)
Presented from Friday 9 September to Saturday 31 December 2022
Why don’t you take a stroll for a dreamlike and sensitive walk?
The elegant and light movement of suspended sails, the projection of soothing images and an enveloping sound… Everything here resonates with the architectural beauty of the Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin d'Angers, which is transformed into a real bubble out of time.
The GRAVITY project, specially designed for the monument, is a kinetic sculpture set in motion by the wind and inspired by the work of Daniel Wurtzel. Enhanced by light, image projection and sound, it offers a poetic immersion that invites the viewer to dream and contemplation. A unique and unique experience, to (re)live without moderation!
Co-production Département de Maine-et-Loire/ ANIMA LUX.
The artists
The company ANIMA LUX, created in 2010 in La Rochelle to develop and produce audiovisual projects, was structured in 2017 to accompany the creations of Yann Nguema. Anchored in the New Aquitaine territory, it produces monumental, sculptural and interactive mappings, as well as original installation and interactive creations.
Yann NGUEMA, artist, artistic director
Born from a scientific background, Yann Nguema eventually turned to artistic creation. A musician, he founded the EZ3kiel group in 1992, for which he developed an extensive visual production that became a reference and a trademark. He focuses his work mainly around the live performance with a constant search around the association image-music. Very quickly, he integrates the computer tool into his creative process by developing his own software and adds an interactive dimension to his productions. Designer of exhibitions, installations, scenographies, he has designed many projects articulating technology, research and poetry. He is an artist ambassador for the Festival of Lights of Lyon. Its productions are enjoying growing international success.
Arnaud DOUCET, artistic direction, production
After discovering the tools of light creation, the passion for new technologies was naturally embedded in a dynamic of contemporary artistic creation. A sensitivity that was expressed within the Ez3kiel collective in the search for innovative scenic proposals. He is co-author and designer in 2014 of the project PixelMotion and MagicScreen which foreshadow Ez3kiel’s new scenic setting on the L.U.XTOUR. He continues his collaboration with Yann, focused on the development of «interactive mapping» projects. 2016 will see the success (1st prize) of the “Evolutions” Mapping at the Festival of Lights lyon. In 2018 he participated in the co-creation of the Rochelle structure Anima Lux, producer of monumental and interactive works by Yann Nguema.
