Jam festival
During the weekend, Le Lude is set for the Renaissance. In the city, entertainers, jugglers, minstrels and other artisans provide entertainment with many shows and workshops.
At the Castle, visitors come across the characters who came back from this distant time, who will be pleased to welcome them in this exceptional monument, part of the decorations dating back to the 16th century: entrance vestibule, polychrome wooden ceiling, cabinet of paintings, italian facade. In the park, you can enjoy the varied ambiences of the different gardens: French gardens along the Loir, rose garden in the defensive spur of the medieval fortress, garden of the spring, in the shade of the wood, and especially the vegetable garden, exceptionally open for the occasion. The children have fun in the moat and its underground, as well as in the two labyrinths. In the kitchens, cooks are busy preparing traditional jams cooked over a wood fire. Lit since early morning, the 19th century wood stoves ensure that the fruits are cooked gently, allowing them to reveal all their flavours in the copper basins. Once in pots, we taste the recipes of the castle on tasty crepes, and the most greedy bring back some pots at home!
On Saturday evening, several activities are proposed by the association Le Lude Renaissance in the gardens:
- 17h30: demonstration of acrobatic fencing
- 21h30: Renaissance music and juggling
- 22h00: pyrotechnic juggling show
