Closing weekend: the temporary exhibition "Shattered Destinies - Routes of Jews in Mayenne 1939-1945", carried out by the association of the memorial, retraces the journey of Jewish victims of the shoah, arrested in Mayenne and then deported to extermination camps during the Second World War. Thanks to this unique exhibition, it is possible to follow the itinerary of some Jewish families arrested in 1942 or 1944, in Mayenne. Family photographs marking happy moments, administrative documents showing the persecutions and the coldness of their application or rare written testimonies are presented to you. The last part of the exhibition is devoted to current anti-Semitism.

Opened in 2012, the Memorial of the Deportees of Mayenne is a site of visit, pioneer in the great West, which pays tribute to the Mayennais, sent in the camps of concentration or extermination nazis during the Second World War. This place of memory is also a place of education, exchange, artistic expression and sharing. The Memorial is structured around two complementary spaces: the Memory Space and the Vigilance Space. Objects brought back from the camps, exhibitions, chronologies, wall of names, written and oral testimonies of Deportees are revealed to you in a very special atmosphere and adapted to all. The Memorial is also a place of defence of peace and human rights.
