Screening of a documentary around the stained glass window

Focus on Ateliers Loire
17 et 18 septembre 2022Passé
Les films du lieu-dit

In the shade of the cathedral of Chartres, for three generations the Ateliers Loire perpetuate an art and techniques that radiate the know-how of the master glassmakers. Alongside the epic journey of the Loire family, marked by the emblematic figure of its founder Gabriel Loire, the film immerses us in the life of the «Ateliers», at the heart of contemporary creation. It is the story of the bold gamble of mastering and magnifying light. The Ateliers do not only make their own stained glass windows, they also collaborate with prestigious artists such as François Morellet, Kim En Joong or Valério Adami. Constantly in reflection, gestation and dialogue, the mastery of the Loire recalls the poetry of glass, this unique material that speaks the glorious and ephemeral of light.
Directed by Gilles Blaise - Les Films du lieu-dit - 2014, with the support of the CNC, Ciclic and the General Council of Eure-et-Loir. DVD for sale on site or from PLR Production.
