Discovery of a restored chapel
A former chapel of a priory of the abbey of Étival-en-Charnie (Sarthe) until the Revolution of 1789, this building then became property of the commune of Beaumont-Pied-de-Bois and was maintained by the inhabitants of the surrounding area. Since the association was founded in 2006, successive municipalities have invested heavily in its restoration. The building was completed in 2021, the furniture began. In addition to a description of the architecture, furniture and events of 900 years of existence, the guided tour also focuses on the transmission of heritage and the role of associations. The chapel is not desecrated and an annual pilgrimage takes place on the Sunday closest to September 8. This visit can also take place throughout the year by appointment.
