Founded in 1115, the abbey of Cadouin is affiliated to the Cistercian order in 119. From this period remains the abbey church and the Romanesque base of conventual buildings. The cloister, in flamboyant Gothic style, testifies to the splendour of the abbey at the end of the 15th century. The architectural richness of the cloister and its sculpted decoration make it a universal, unchanging and serene place.
