The Sirius association opens the doors of a place steeped in history and perched on the hillsides of Floirac during visits combining scientific and artistic heritage.
Follow the researchers in the discovery of the Floirac Observatory and its dome of the Grand Equatorial. This astronomical observation building has been home to a contemporary art installation since June 2017: The observatory/science fiction library of British artist Suzanne Treister*.
A visit that allows to dive into the history of the techniques related to the observation of the sky and in the imagination that they arouse.
*Produced as part of the Bordeaux Métropole public art programme "Art in the City" and the first element of the triptych "Les Vaisseaux de Bordeaux_", this work puts in perspective the theories related to technological evolution through references to science fiction literature._
The last work of the triptych entitled «Le puits/Bibliothèque sur la Technique» is inaugurated Quai des Queyries in Bordeaux at the opening of the European Heritage Days. Check out the program!
