Built in the XVth century, Valley is one of best kept(preserved) castles and one of the most remarkable of the High - Auvergne. This imposing fortress is flanked(thrown) of six towers crowned with machicolation and combed(put on) by roofs in pepper-pot, the different coverage(cover) of which gives to the roofing of Valley an original shimmering of colours. In the main courtyard, a Gothic chapel (Historical monument), also of the XVth century is devoted to the saint Blaise. They penetrate into the castle by a door barded by iron, with which the tympanum is adorned with a bas-relief in the weapons of the d' Estaing. A staircase in screw harms(serves) the diverse floors by a hall, which, at origin, was a courtyard. The first floor includes three large rooms decoration of which (ceilings and fireplaces) dates the environment(middle) of the XIXth century.
