The National Museum of Customs offers you to discover the different trades that are currently working on the renovation of the roof and the sculptures of the Customs Hotel.

In connection with the annual theme, and as part of the work currently taking place on the roof and the sculptures of the customs hotel, the National Customs Museum offers visitors to discover the work of the roofers and stonemasons.
In Bordeaux, on the majestic Place de la Bourse, the Hôtel des Fermes du Roy stands opposite the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along the Garonne.
Within it is the Interregional Directorate of Customs and Indirect Duties of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the National Customs Museum. Unique in France, the permanent route of this cultural place presents the heritage of this administration. It is based on objects, archival documents, works, seizures presented in an 18th century customs clearance hall. Behind these elements is the history of the constitution of the Customs.
As part of the national theme of the Ministry of Culture, focused this year on sustainable heritage, the MND proposes on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September a free visit from 10am to 6pm as well as a meeting from 2pm to 5pm with the artisans who are currently working on the renovation of the roof and the sculptures of the Customs hotel.
On this occasion, Bimotep will present its achievements: it creates 3D models of existing works to facilitate communication, exchange and data management around a renovation project.
During these two days, you can discover the work of these different artisans, exchange with them and witness live creations specially designed for the occasion.
For this new edition of the European Heritage Days, visitors are invited to better understand and understand this building of the eighteenth century, through various professions that help preserve our heritage.
Appointment:
1/ free range - Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September 2022 from 10am to 6pm.
2/ meeting with the stonemasons of the companions of Saint-Jacques, the roofing craftsmen and the company Bimotep - Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September 2022 from 2pm to 5pm.

Built in 1738 according to the plans of Jacques Gabriel, architect of the king Louis XV, the hotel of the farms of the King welcomed at origin the Firm Dress rehearsal, ancestor of the Customhouse under the old(former) Diet(Regime). Located in the south angle of the Place(Square) of the Stock Market, its neoclassical facades marked the beginning of the urban renovation of Bordeaux in the XVIIIth century. This building(ship), which accommodates even at present the services(departments) of the customhouse, shelters a remarkable courtyard which will be unusually opened to the public. Entirely laid with cobblestones, it is adorned on its western wall of a said fountain "in freezing", due to its motives drawn by the Flemish sculptor Verberckt.
