Bastide de Saint-Justin
Place des Tilleuls, 40240 Saint-Justin
Ancient country-house of Landes(Moors) of Armagnac based(established) in 1280 by an act of paréage between the viscountess Constance of Marsan and the Hospitable(Hospital) Knights of Saint-Jean-de-Jérusalem (future Order of Malta). His(Her,Its) place with arcades and his(her, its) old half-timbered houses are typical of southwest ancient country-houses. The city(estate) knew a warlike destiny where legendary faces(figures) are crossed: kings and brigands such the partner Guilleri, famous thief. Its three octagonal towers and the path round the battlements following the vestiges of ramparts, its prison are even today the evidence of this tormented history(story).
