The House of the Mermaid is a historic monument, in the heart of Collonges-la-Rouge. Built in red sandstone like the church with the Romanesque bell tower of the 12th century, the chapel of the Penitents of the late 15th century and the whole of this village with a very homogeneous character.
You will be welcomed by the volunteers of the association Les Amis de Collonges (founded in 1927), of which this house is the headquarters and of which they organize the exhibitions as well as that of the chapel of the Penitents. They will be able to give you access to detailed documentation, historical and artistic, and advise you for the visit of this very endearing village and its surroundings.
