Moulin de Bagas
33190 Bagas
- Gironde
- Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Bagas mill (1316) is solidly located on the edge of an island on the Dropt. This rectangular building is provided, at each angle, with a sash. The south arm forms a lock for the passage of boats. The entrance door, under a broken arch, is located on the first floor, at the end of a metal bridge. Fortified since the Hundred Years' War, it has characteristics comparable to those of castles. The fortification elements are very visible and arches in cross pattée adorn the walls allowing to monitor the surroundings. Inside, four sets of wheels testify to the milling activity.
