On July 3, 2021, a tripartite agreement was signed between the Municipality, the Association pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine naillatois and the Heritage Foundation for the launch of a popular patronage. This donation apel is launched for the restoration of the interior of this beautiful church at the Tors bell tower, member of the Association of Tors bell towers of Europe. The bell tower of the church of Naillat is classified unique in the department of Creuse.
In total, there are a hundred steeples of this characteristic throughout Europe!

À propos du lieu

This fortified church dates from the 13th century. This Romanesque building is rectangular in shape. The buttresses are used to support the weight of the vault and the structure of the church. The portal, dating from the 15th century, is in a broken line with thin columns. To the right of the portal is the ancient altar of the church with a cross. The church has a 15th century bell tower-porch, built for defense purposes. This rectangular bell tower has three floors connected by a spiral staircase turret. Each floor is pierced by one or two bays with double use of watch shooting. The last level of the bell tower is pierced by four long and narrow day arches. An arrow tors, framed, surmounts this bell tower.
