A decapitated girl, a ruined castle, a diamond business that still makes the «buzz». Fortunately, everything is now under control, thanks to the commissioner and his dog for a demonstration of cavage. Follow your guide to better understand the twists and turns of this Saint-Alvère story. And yes, it is also the name of a not so quiet village!

À propos du lieu

The Sainte-Alvère region, a historic stronghold of the Lostanges, is the western tip of the Périgord Noir. It is a very hilly country whose most calcareous hillsides are the domain of the truffle. Until the 1960s, the region was a major truffle producer. For nearly 30 years, the Sainte-Alvère market has been offering many buyers a quality truffle controlled by quality commissioners.
In order to enhance this wealth of heritage, an interpretive trail, accompanied by a permanent exhibition at the Sainte-Alvère tourist office, was created and introduced the general public to the discovery of the «black diamond».
