Ancienne église de Saint-Priest-les-Vergnes
87120 Saint-Priest
- Haute-Vienne
- Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Former priory of the archpriest of Saint Paul. In 996, Roger de Laaron gave the church to the less Benedictines of the monastery of Uzerche. In 1458, the order was given to rebuild the church. Certain details allow to suppose that this reconstruction took place in several campaigns. On November 16, 1836, the parish of Saint-Priest was abolished by royal decree and the church abandoned.
Beautiful fitting of vaults, wall paintings of the fifteenth century. The church has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1977 and was restored by the owner.
