Tour médiévale, dite de l'honneur
15 rue Pierre Curie, 33340 Lesparre-Médoc
- Gironde
- Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Lords of Lesparre were among the most important of Aquitaine. They often became famous for their bravery, prowess in fight and strong character (Florimont de Lesparre challenging a king to a duel even!) of their powerful medieval castle, there remains(subsists) only the square donjon of XIIITH - XIVTH century, place of life of the Lord and his close friends today. This imposing military architecture, just restored, allows to judge the importance of the old(former) castle. This quadrangular, high tower about 30 metres, is 12 metres wide. Small museum on the life of the Médoc in the last century.
